Another Excellence Award To Korea Plant
The Johnson Controls Delkor battery-manufacturing plant in Korea has been awarded the 2015 General Motors (GM) Supplier Quality Excellence award for the second year in a row. The award from GM recognizes global suppliers who demonstrate excellent performance and quality in their manufacturing process, products and services.
Johnson Controls is among the approximately 1500 suppliers, out of GM's approximately 18,500 suppliers around the world, given the award. Winners meet or exceed a stringent set of quality performance criteria set by General Motors along with cross-functional support of the entire GM organization.
"These suppliers have demonstrated their commitment to quality excellence and their outstanding performance is essential to GM's efforts to provide its customers with the best products and services in the industry," says Sheri Hickok, GM executive director Supplier Quality.
Our manufacturing team in Korea says a day to day dedication to and focus on quality. They believe it starts from the moment a Johnson Controls sales person meets with GM and it doesn't end until the very last battery in an order is shipped. The Director of Operation in Korea, Yonghwan Park, was present to receive the award from a GM Korea Senior Quality Executive. After receiving the award, the Korean manufacturing team gave a presentation to reinforce their commitment to continue delivering outstanding quality to GM and all customers.
